The Positive Family Support Program at Churchville

The Positive Family Support (PFS) Program is designed to help families be  more aware of the school’s expectations for positive behavior, to help families be informed about how to promote student positive behavior, and to give parents research-based information about parenting teenagers.  The PFS resources can be accessed by all our Churchville families by either contacting Meghan McCarthy (our social worker and family support facilitator), contacting Maria Gallegos (our bilingual parent liaison) or by visiting our Family Resource Center (FRC).  For your convenience, some of the resources have been uploaded to this site and can be viewed in the "Family Resources by Topic" folders on the left side of this screen.  Additionally, we created a brochure to better explain PFS at Churchville Middle School.  Click here to learn more.

How Positive Family Support links with PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports)

Our PBIS team has defined what safe, respectful, and responsible behaviors are expected in all common areas of our school.  All students and staff are expected to follow our “3 BE’s”.  When students follow our schoolwide expectations, they can be rewarded with a “ticket”.

Some families have found this model to be helpful when setting behavior expectation at home.  Please refer to our “3 BE's” list for families when establishing this model with your family.  These resources can be found in our FRC and on the left side of this page in the "3 BE's at Home" folder under "Family Resources by Topic".  For more information, please visit our PBIS page http://churchville.elmhurst205.org/PBIS

“This work of art welcomes Churchville families and visitors to our school.  In Social Studies we have learned that America is known as being a “melting pot”.  Our school also represents this idea of a melting pot as students and staff from a variety of cultures go here.”—Artwork and quote by Churchville students
