About Mrs. Meza
Hello! I am Mrs. Meza. I am currently the 8th grade Reading Specialist, teaching reading intervention courses and co-teaching English-Language Arts classes. I have been connected to the Elmhurst Community for a long time. My family moved to Elmhurst when I was 4 and I grew up near Crestview Park. I graduated from York High School in 2000, where I was involved in the Volleyball, Cheerleading, Italian Club, and the National Honor Society. I then went to Illinois State University, where I earned a degree in Special Education. I began teaching Special Education at Churchville in 2004. I realized that I had a strong passion for teaching reading and went on to obtain a Master's Degree and became a certified Reading Specialist. I gained some different experiences in other districts and then returned to Churchville as a Reading Specialist in 2014. That year I also had my son, Evan. I am so happy to be back "home" in Elmhurst and at Churchville! The staff and students at Churchville are my second home and my second family.
