Building administration will give tours of the building on July 9, 16, and 23 at 11am or 12pm for incoming grade 9 students and transfer students. We kindly ask for RSVPs so we can make sure we are appropriately staffed. Please RSVP HERE so we have an idea of who is attending.

STUDENT CHROMEBOOKS: Incoming Grade 9 students and transfer students can pick up their new Chromebooks at York from July 28 to August 1 8:30am - 1:00pm and Friday 8:30am - 11:30am at York.

STUDENT SCHEDULES: Student Schedules will be available at the start of August via PowerSchool. We will send more information when we get closer to the date.

TEXTBOOKS AND MATERIALS: Students at York need to purchase their textbooks and novels through Beck’s virtual bookstore. Students’ courses are loaded into the system and will be ready for purchase in early July. Beck's will send an email with a link to purchase the texts associated with the classes via a link in the email. Families will log in with the student’s ID to see the required textbooks and novels for the course. Students can obtain non-digital texts (those not ending in EBK) from siblings or friends, but please ensure that it is the correct edition of the materials. YORK BOOKSTORE LINK

PE UNIFORMS: Students can use their D205 middle school uniform at York, or they can purchase a new uniform through the YORK BOOKSTORE LINK

RESIDENCY

For the 2025-2026 school year, parents/guardians of all new students to the district,  incoming Kindergarteners, 9th graders and parents who require re-verification of residency (i.e. expiring lease before the start of the 2025-26 school year) MUST present Proof of Residency documents (see details HERE on website) to verify their residency. Please bring these documents to the school where the student is currently enrolled. The school collects the residency information from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Monday-Thursday. New D205 families should bring residency documents to the school their child will be attending. Please make sure that you do not wait to submit residency documents, as that will delay your student from receiving their schedule in August.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FROM HEALTH OFFICE

As we welcome your child to York High School in the fall, we want to take this opportunity to explain the health requirements for incoming freshman students.

Illinois State law requires that all incoming freshmen have an updated physical examination, which includes proof of receiving all required immunizations as well as a current dental exam. The physical examination must be on the state-approved certificate of health form, which can be found on the district website, www.elmhurst205.org. Please note that the IHSA Sports Physical form is not acceptable for entry into 9th grade.

In order for your child to be in compliance with the physical examination and immunization requirements, the following MUST be completed as directed:

  • All immunizations must be documented on the first page of the form. The immunization chart must be filled in with correct dates, signed, and dated by an authorized medical provider.

  • The child’s Health History questions (yes/no questions at the top of the second page) must be completed, signed, and dated by the parent/guardian.

  • The Physical Examination is to be completed, signed, and dated by an authorized medical provider. Please make sure that the physician has checked the boxes at the bottom of this page indicating whether or not your child can participate in physical education and interscholastic sports.

  • The physical must be dated within one year prior to entering 9th grade.

Please note: Incomplete examination forms and incomplete immunization records will be returned to you for completion. Your child will not be compliant with Illinois State Law until the necessary documentation is received. The completed physical form must be on file in the York Health Services Office by October 10th. On October 15th, District 205 will exclude students without the required documentation from classes. Once the student is excluded, they will not be allowed to attend school or any school functions, which include athletic and/or extra-curricular activities, until the required physical examination and immunization documents have been received in the Health Services Office.

Please submit completed physicals to the York High School Health Services Office. They may be mailed, brought to the Health Services Office, faxed to (630)-782-6594, or emailed to yorknurses@elmhurst205.org. During summer break, health records can be turned in at the York Main Office. Do not turn the form into summer school staff, counselors, hall monitors, or coaches. Please keep a copy for your records.

Students who do not have access to a health care provider may contact the DuPage County Health Department All Kids Program at 1-866-ALL-KIDS. More information may be found at About All Kids | HFS.
